Chemical properties: insoluble in water, soluble in acid and alkali, slowly soluble in acetic acid, ammonia. It has strong reducing property and emits hydrogen with acid and alkali. Moistened by moisture, stable in dry air, and white basic carbonate formed in moist air to cover the surface. The air burns a blue-green flame to produce zinc oxide. High purity reacts slowly with sulfuric acid and nitric acid, and accelerates when a small amount of other metals such as steel, tin, and lead are contained.

Product uses: organic, inorganic chemicals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, printing and dyeing, metallurgy, reducing agents, catalysts and other industries.

Chemical production: used in sodium hyposulfite, lithopone, sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylat; dye intermediates and other production as a reducing agent, the particle size is slightly thicker than the coating zinc powder, the average particle size is 10-25μm.

Zinc anti-corrosion coating: The anti-corrosion of steel components is the main use of metal zinc. The coating methods include hot-plating, electroplating, thermal spraying, zinc-rich coating, powder plating, etc. Among them, hot-dip plating is the most important method. Zinc-rich coatings are mainly used for large components that are not suitable for hot-dip plating and electroplating, such as coating of large outdoor steel structures (marine engineering, bridges, pipelines, highway guardrails, etc.), ships, containers, etc. Depending on the film-forming binder, zinc-rich coatings can be classified into organic zinc-rich coatings and inorganic zinc-rich coatings.

Hydrometallurgy: used for solution purification and metal replacement recovery, such as gold, silver, non-ferrous metals.

Medicines and pesticides: Zinc powder is used as a reducing agent for the production of salicylic acid, indomethacin, aminopyrine, etc., as raw materials for the production of zineb, zinc phosphide, high-efficiency and low-toxicity pesticides.
